EllisDon played a leading role in integrating biodiversity and ecosystem enhancement into landscape restoration across multiple projects, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable, resilient, and ecologically rich environments:

  • Sheldon Creek: Following construction, EllisDon applied a native seeding mix to restore disturbed areas. The resulting growth included a variety of native flowers, creating visually appealing landscapes while providing critical habitat and food for pollinators such as bees and butterflies. These efforts support local food chains, strengthen ecosystem function, and contribute to the long-term health of the restored environment.

  • Long Branch GO Station: EllisDon led the implementation of landscaping plans with 72% native plant species. These locally adapted plants conserve water, improve soil and air quality, and require less maintenance due to their natural resilience. By providing food and shelter for native insects, birds, and other wildlife, this initiative fosters thriving ecosystems while enhancing the station’s aesthetic and ecological value.

Through these projects, EllisDon has demonstrated that thoughtful, native-focused landscaping can deliver meaningful environmental, economic, and social benefits—strengthening biodiversity, supporting sustainable ecosystems, and creating beautiful, low-maintenance landscapes that endure for years to come.
