2025 Highlights
Books and Reading Support for Indigenous Students
EllisDon and ALLiED volunteers continue their support of Chapter One, a non-profit organization that provides early literacy support for kindergarten to grade 3 students in underserved communities. There are approximately 40 EllisDon volunteers who complete weekly reading sessions with their reading buddies in Indigenous schools. ALLiED has sponsored two more children's books for Indigenous students, bringing their total to six since the partnership began. In the last school year, EllisDon volunteers have contributed 155 hours of reading support, and the company has subsidized 660 hours of 1:1 tutoring—helping students access the support they need.
Pink Shirt Day Campaign
The ALLiED group successfully led another impactful campaign for Pink Shirt Day, raising awareness about bullying and harassment while emphasizing the importance of tolerance and acceptance. As part of the campaign, the group gathered submissions from EllisDon employees across the organization, to create awareness on the persistent issue of bullying within our communities and showcasing photos of individuals and teams proudly wearing their pink gear.
Neurodiversity Awareness Training
ALLiED, with EllisDon’s Talent Development team and neurodiversity consultant Lyric Rivera, introduced online Neurodiversity Awareness Training for employees. These self-directed online modules cover topics from creating safe working environments to neurodivergent parenting, supporting employees from work to home and in between. The training provides valuable resources, practical tips, and strategies to help employees better understand and support their neurodiverse peers and teams.
