The purpose of Together extends beyond simply increasing female representation within the construction industry. It is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive workplace where all employees, regardless of gender, are encouraged to express themselves, raise concerns, and pursue innovation without fear of failure or exclusion. Together prioritizes empowering individuals to address inappropriate behaviour confidently and to feel secure in expressing their authentic identities.

2025 Highlights

Jill of All Trades Sponsorship and Mentorship

As EllisDon renews their national sponsorship of The Jill of All Trades, the Together group continues to lead the coordination of events across the country. Jill of All Trades provides mentorship and hands-on experiences for high school girls who are interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades. In 2025, EllisDon participated in seven events across the country.

Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day Campaigns

The Together group, in collaboration with Area representatives, celebrated Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day in style. Each Area hosted its own unique events, many of which provided participants with the chance to learn more about Together, network, and reflect on the contributions of women to the construction industry. The campaign concluded with the release of an inspiring video, featuring a panel discussion with the co-chairs of Together and President and CEO Kieran Hawe, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Sponsor of Together Wayne Ferguson, and Building Group Superintendent Tim Crane. The panelists addressed top questions submitted by Together volunteers, sharing how they have personally and professionally advanced equity in their careers and within the broader construction industry.

Networking Initiative

The Together group has successfully completed its pilot program, providing women with opportunities for in-person networking and connection. The initiative included a group golf lesson, and Together intends to organize additional in-person events for women in construction at EllisDon across various local regions.
